Another year and another Bike Week in beautiful Daytona Beach. Out of all the years I have been coming here (and that’s a lot), I have never ever been rained out. Yea, I may get a little chilly in the mornings and evenings, but during the day it’s was absolutely gorgeous.

It doesn’t seem possible but this year seemed to be more crowded than last year. The bike shows were slammed, Main Street was its own show and mayhem, and the venues were filled with so many bikes, it’s hard to imagine how so many people seem to get the bikin’ bug even with the overpriced rates and the crazy traffic.

One of the highlights for me was being able to cover the American Flat Track races at Daytona International Speedway. A special track was built inside the infield that wasn’t just an oval. It had a long straightaway, a chicane, and a jump, which made for some of the most entertaining racing I’ve seen. It also featured Hooligan Series racing sponsored in part by Harley-Davidson and brings back the age-old competition between Harley-Davidson and Indian flat track racers.
